Mai 2011 (Marcel Lucas) The popularity of Networked Virtual Environments (NVE) increased remarkably in recent years where a plethora of players participate concurrently. Traditional approaches applying the Client/Server pattern swiftly reach their limit in terms of scalability and maintainability. Hence, different approaches are based on Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technology. In particular, fast-paced NVEs stress these systems and most likely cause high overlay maintenance overhead. This Master’s Thesis presents a novel approach to spatial Publish/Subscribe (Pub/Sub) in P2P NVEs. The unstructured P2P system BubbleStorm offers flexible and scalable means and is therefore used as a fundamental base for the developed Pub/Sub system. As the evaluation of the subscription is performed

"... mcmxciv This thesis deals with combinatorics in connection with Coxeter groups, finitely generated but not necessarily finite. The representation theory of groups as nonsingular matrices over a field is of immense theoretical importance, but also basic for computational group theory, where the group ..."

the group elements are data structures in a computer. Matrices are unnecessarily large structures, and part of this thesis is concerned with small and efficient representations of a large class of Coxeter groups (including most Coxeter groups that anyone ever payed any attention to.) I would like to thank some people who were involved in the creation of this thesis: • Berry Schoenmakers of TU Eindhoven for introducing me to the topic of cryptographic voting protocols. • Evangelos Karatsiolis for his work in guiding me through the process of writing this thesis and his constant motivation. • Roberto Samarone Araujo for hours of discussing various protocols with Evengelos and me. • Warren D. Smith for providing with a preliminary version of his upcoming book »How Mathematics can Improve Democracy«. • Ute Günther and Christian Burgmann for their proof-reading. Nonetheless, any remaing errors shall be blamed on me. • Andrea Peter for her love and for cheering me up when I was down. • Last but not least my parents, Jacqueline Herrnkind and Hans Peter Klink – without their love and continuous support, this thesis would never have been written.
