Abstract
Wegivealowerboundof(fbd=2c)forthe numberofverticesofad-dimensionalpoly-topewithffacetswhichcanappearonthe outerboundaryofaprojectiontoanydi-mension2k<d.Byduality,thisimplies alowerboundof(nbd=2c)forthenum-beroffacetsinak-dimensionalsliceofa d-dimensionalpolytopewithnvertices.At thesametime,theUpperBoundTheorem providesanO(nbd=2c)upperboundforthis quantity.Forcyclicpolytopes,however,we showanupperboundofO(n)onthisquan-tityindimensionfour.Wegiveanewalgo-rithmfortheconstructionoftheboundary oftheprojection.
