Abstract
As the Internet users grow, new network technologies are emerging. Those include ADSL and cable modem, which essentially provide asymmetric bandwidth for uplink and downlink to the user's connection. In this paper, we investigate the behavior of HTTP/TCP protocols on such asymmetric networks, and present the analytic results of the mean throughput of TCP.
