Abstract
ABSTRACT: A hydrogeomorphic classification scheme for Great Lakes coastal wetlands is presented. The classification is hierarchical and first divides the wetlands into three broad hydrogeomorphic sys-tems, lacustrine, riverine, and barrier-protected, each with unique hydrologic flow characteristics and residence time.
