Abstract- This paper investigates the effects of station keeping in a broadband multi-beam High Altitude Platform (HAP) architecture. Results have shown that due to the HAP movements, the handoff and dropping probability increases. The increase becomes more significant when the HAP speed increases. Exploiting cell overlap improves the overall levels of blocking and dropping. The dropping levels improve even further when dedicating some of the channels for the handoff mechanism at the expense of higher blocking. Index Terms—Mobility Models, Six degrees of freedom,
