In this paper presents biometrics based fingerprint and palmprint recognition and authentication system. Fingerprint and palmprint images are enhanced using preprocessing techniques such as morphological operations. The feature extraction techniques such as neighborhood operation and FAST feature algorithm is used to independently extract fingerprint and palmprint features. These techniques are more reliable and faster than traditional techniques used. Experimental results shown recognition rate 89.29 % for fingerprint and 100 % for palmprint this implies that the proposed methodology has better performance and is more reliable over the techniques proposed and used earlier.

Abstract — Nowadays in networked society there are a number of systems which need verification of a person in order to grant access to the system. Reliable person identification is necessity of the protection and access restriction. For security reasons more and more organizations are looking for automated identity authentication systems. The person identification is the part of biometry and biometric devices provides an interface between a computer system and human. Biometric identification refers to identification an individual on his or her specific physical and behavioral characteristics. Index Terms — Fingerprint, iris, speaker, recognition.

Single biometric systems suffer from many challenges such as noisy data, non-universality and spoof attacks. Multimodal biometric systems can solve these limitations effectively by using two or more individual modalities. In this paper fusion of fingerprint, iris and face traits are used at score level in order to improve the accuracy of the system. Scores which obtained from the classifiers are normalized first using min-max normalization. Then sum, product and weighted sum rules are used to get fusion. Experimental results show that multimodal biometric systems outperform unimodal biometric systems and weighted sum rule gives the best results comparing with sum or product method.

Abstract-- This paper presents a new biometric identification and authentication schema in relation to payment systems and ATMs. The financial sector has used ATMs as a means to make payment and offer financial services for its clients. But, security is a major issue in accessing these machines. Improving the performance of individual matchers in the aforementioned situation may not be effective. Multi-biometric systems are used to overcome this problem by providing multiple pieces of evidence of the same identity. In this paper, we have proposed the development of a fingerprint and iris fusion system which utilizes a Minutiae Matcher for fingerprint and Hamming Distance Matcher for iris with matching score level. It has been found that the proposed multimodal technique using threshold of 0.6 gave the best results. It has an accuracy of 96.67%, FAR of

Attribution License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. This research proposes a multimodal multifeature biometric system for human recognition using two traits, that is, palmprint and iris. The purpose of this research is to analyse integration ofmultimodal andmultifeature biometric systemusing feature level fusion to achieve better performance. The main aim of the proposed system is to increase the recognition accuracy using feature level fusion. The features at the feature level fusion are raw biometric data which contains rich information when compared to decision and matching score level fusion. Hence information fused at the feature level is expected to obtain improved recognition accuracy. However, information fused at feature level has the problem of curse in dimensionality; here PCA (principal component analysis) is used to diminish the dimensionality of the feature sets as they are high dimensional. The proposed multimodal results were compared with other multimodal and monomodal approaches. Out of these comparisons, the multimodal multifeature palmprint iris fusion offers significant improvements in the accuracy of the suggested multimodal biometric system. The proposed algorithm is tested using created virtual multimodal database using UPOL iris database and PolyU palmprint database. 1.

Attribution License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. This research investigates the comparative performance from three different approaches for multimodal recognition of combined iris and fingerprints: classical sum rule, weighted sum rule, and fuzzy logic method. The scores from the different biometric traits of iris and fingerprint are fused at the matching score and the decision levels. The scores combination approach is used after normalization of both scores using themin-max rule. Our experimental results suggest that the fuzzy logicmethod for thematching scores combinations at the decision level is the best followed by the classical weighted sum rule and the classical sum rule in order. The performance evaluation of each method is reported in terms of matching time, error rates, and accuracy after doing exhaustive tests on the public CASIA-Iris databases V1 and V2 and the FVC 2004 fingerprint database. Experimental results prior to fusion and after fusion are presented followed by their comparison with related works in the current literature. The fusion by fuzzy logic decision mimics the human reasoning in a soft and simple way and gives enhanced results. 1.

Abstract: Biometrics recognition system is more reliable and popular. In this paper we describe a palmprint and handgeometry based person identification consisting of three main steps- preprocessing techniques such as morphological operations. The feature extraction techniques such as FAST feature algorithm and region properties is used to independently extract palmprint and handgeometry features. Feature matching with euclidean distance classifier. These techniques are more reliable and faster than traditional techniques used. We finally conclude that the proposed methodology has better performance. This is supported by our experiments which are able to achieve recognition rate for palmprint 100 % and for handgeometry 93.75 %.
