Abstract—The present way of doing business increasingly requires enterprises (and other organisations) to collaborate with each other; networked business allows enterprises to focus on their key competences and still capture market share with added-value, composed services jointly with trusted business partners. However, the present solutions for setting up new collaborations are based on ad hoc methods, or require integration through shared computing and communication platforms. These solutions leave collaborations with major risks on not detecting failures, functional or non-functional, breaches of trust or contractual state, or without systematic support on reacting to the changes in the business environment. This paper proposes service ecosystem governance principles, which are illustrated through the example analysis of the Pilarcos framework for service ecosystems. Service ecosystem governance supports correctness in dynamic collaborations despite strong autonomy of the partners, adaptability to changing business situations, and the manageable evolution of the service ecosystem that is necessary for sustainable networked business. The recent increased use of Internet, social media, and networked business mark a development trend where software-based services flow to the open market for enabling service-oriented networked business. Our vision is that in future, organizations and individuals collaborate within open service ecosystems. An open service ecosystem is characterized especially by the autonomy of its entities, its evolution with respect to available services and collaboration types, and dynamic establishment of collaborations. For facilitating collaboration establishment in open service ecosystems features of services and cooperation facilities, and feature inter-dependencies need to be governed rigorously. Towards this purpose we have established a framework for unambiguous description of service ecosystem features. The framework comprises a conceptual model which provides especially a categorization of features, and a formalization of the conceptual model as a meta-model for service ecosystems. We show that the corresponding feature categories have their specific roles and semantics as part of different ecosystem elements and in different phases of service ecosystem processes. 1.

Abstract—Trust decisions on inter-enterprise collaborations involve a trustor’s subjective evaluation of its willingness to participate in a specific collaboration, given the risks and in-centives involved. We have built support for automating routine trust decisions based on a combination of risk, reputation and incentive information. To handle non-routine decisions, we must provide human users with a way to interface with this system and gain access to supporting information. Current collaboration management systems are missing the concepts, processes and interfaces for enabling user involvement. In this paper, we present two key contributions towards enabling user involvement in trust decision making for inter-enterprise collaborations: i) We have studied existing literature on human trust decision making perspectives, and produced a set of criteria for trust decisions. We analyze how three collaboration management systems support these criteria. ii) We provide a more detailed case study of enabling these features in our Pilar-cos collaboration management system through implementing a trust decision expert tool prototype, and report the results of our user experiments on it. Emergence of business networking and social networking increases the exchange of sensitive information and creation of behaviour traces in the network. However, the current computing and communication solutions do not provide sufficient conceptual, architectural or technical facilities to preserve privacy while collaborating in the network. This paper enhances definition on privacy-related concepts to become sufficient for open service ecosystems, and finally introduces a privacypreservation architecture with emphasis on usability, sustainability against threats, and reasonable cost of establishment and utilisation. As this architecture introduces new categories of tools for privacy preservation, it is significant also as a roadmap or maturity model. Keywords-privacy, service ecosystem, architecture I.

Abstract—Trust decisions on inter-enterprise collaborations involve a trustor’s subjective evaluation of its willingness to participate in the specific collaboration, given the risks and incentives involved. In earlier work, we have built support on automating routine trust decisions based on a combination of risk, reputation and incentive information. Non-routine cases must be dealt with by human users, who require access to supporting information for their decisions; further, their needs differ somewhat from the needs of automation tools. This paper presents work in progress to provide a usable user interface for manual trust decisions on inter-enterprise collaborations in situations where automated decisions cannot be made. We have implemented a trust decision expert tool and are in the process of evaluating it and incorporating it into a broader collaboration management toolset.
