Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS) is a promising technique to reduce Peaktoaverage power ratio (PAPR) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals. However optimum PTS (OPTS) needs exhaustive search over all combinations of allowed phase weighting factors. It results in high computational complexity. Grouping Phase Weighting (GPW) technique is a method which has reduced computational complexity while same PAPR reduction capability as compared to OPTS. In this paper we propose a novel technique known as Suboptimum Grouping Phase Weighting (SGPW) Method which not only reduces the computational complexity but also have an advantage of increment in PAPR reduction performance as compared to Grouping Phase Weighting (GPW) method.

Abstract—One of the major drawbacks of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals is the high peak to average power ratio (PAPR) of the transmitted signal. Many PAPR reduction techniques have been proposed in the literature, among which, partial transmit sequence (PTS) technique has been taken considerable investigation. However, PTS technique requires an exhaustive search over all combinations of allowed phase factors, whose complexity increases exponentially with the number of subblocks. In this paper, a newly suboptimal method based on modified artificial bee colony (ABCPTS) algorithm is proposed to search the better combination of phase factors. The ABCPTS algorithm can significantly reduce the computational complexity for larger PTS subblocks and offers lower PAPR at the same time. Simulation results show that the ABCPTS algorithm is an efficient method to achieve significant PAPR reduction.

Abstract — A new constellation extension technique for peaktoaverage powerratio reduction (PAPR) in orthogonal frequencydivision multiplexing systems is proposed. Two new algorithms for PAPR reduction are developed by applying the socalled method of conditional probability (MCP) and coordinate descent optimization (CDO). Our simulations demonstrate that the proposed algorithms outperform several existing algorithms and the performance can be further improved by combining the MCP, CDO, and the selective mapping algorithms. One major drawback of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is the large peaktoaverage powerratio (PAPR), which significantly degrades the power efficiency. In order to prevent nonlinear distortions the PAPR needs to be minimized to guarantee a linear dynamic range of the high power amplifier. Therefore, various reduction algorithms have been proposed. However, they do not include link adaptation requirements. Previous results show that bit and power loading algorithms in adaptive OFDM systems fail to meet the target error rate requirements if large timedomain peaks occur. Hence, in this paper a joint utilization of extended constellation alphabets of active subcarriers and tone reservation for peak power reduction in adaptive OFDM systems is derived. The resulting linear programming (LP) problem can be efficiently solved and the solution is lossless in terms of throughput. Furthermore, a suboptimal algorithm, which achieves great PAPR reduction with lower complexity, is proposed while link adaptation is employed. 1.

Abstract—In tone reservation (TR) based OFDM systems, the peak to average power ratio (PAPR) reduction performance mainly depends on the selection of the peak reduction tone (PRT) set and the optimal target clipping level. Finding the optimal PRT set requires an exhaustive search of all combinations of possible PRT sets, which is a nondeterministic polynomialtime (NPhard) problem, and this search is infeasible for the number of tones used in practical systems. The existing selection methods, such as the consecutive PRT set, equally spaced PRT set and random PRT set, perform poorly compared to the optimal PRT set or incur high computational complexity. In this paper, an efficient scheme based on genetic algorithm (GA) with lower computational complexity is proposed for searching a nearly optimal PRT set. While TRbased clipping is simple and attractive for practical implementation, determining the optimal target clipping level is difficult. To overcome this problem, we propose an adaptive clipping control algorithm. Simulation results show that our proposed algorithms efficiently obtain a nearly optimal PRT set and good PAPR reductions.

Abstract—This paper presents a multitone CDMA (MTCDMA) based system specification for wireless body area network (WBAN) applications. According to the factors of bandwidth, carrier frequency, and electric field intensity defined in wireless medical telemetry service, the function blocks and data format are designed through the considerations of hardware cost, power consumption, and system performance. The design constraints for baseband processor, data conversion, and RF circuits are defined. This work achieves PER=1 % and allows interferer distance less than 1.01m. In energyspectrum efficiency, it provides 3.125 times energyspectrum product less than the stateoftheart systems for healthcare applications.

AbstractIn this paper, the PeaktoAverage Ratio reduction in OFDM systems is implemented by the Adaptive Active Constellation Extension (ACE) technique which is more simple and attractive for practical downlink implementation purpose. However, in normal constellation method we cannot achieve the minimum PAR if the target clipping level is much below than the initial optimum value. To get the better of this problem, we proposed Active Constellation Algorithm with adaptive clipping control mechanism to get minimum PAR. Simulation results exhibits that the proposed algorithm reaches the minimum PAR for most severely low clipping signals to get minimum PAR.

Abstract—A specific LDPC check matrix structure is used to form multichannel alternative signal to solve the problem that traditional block codes inhibiting PAPR scheme is not suitable for a large number of subcarriers and LDPC code is applied to the field of optimization of peaktoaverage ratio. A rapid construction method of LDPC check matrix and fast encoding process using matrix are analyzed in detail. Simulation results show that performance of LDPC code is better than Turbo code on the PAPR suppression. In addition, quasicyclic LDPC code has a slight advantage on PAPR reduction compared with quasicyclic LDPC code, but the proposed method has lower computational complexity.
