The hybrid formalism of superstrings on AdS2 × S 2, defined as a sigma model on the coset supermanifold PSU(1,12)/U(1) × U(1) with a WZ term, is used to calculate the instanton partition function of IIA superstrings on the euclidean attractor geometry AdS2 × S 2 × CY3. We consider N = 2 supersymmetric U(1) gauge theory in a nonanticommutative N = 2 harmonic superspace with the singlet deformation. We generalize analytic superfield and gauge parameter to the nonanticommutative theory so that gauge transformations act on the component fields in a canonical form (SeibergWitten map). Abstract: We construct type IIB supergravity duals of nonanticommutative deformed N = 4 SU(N) gauge theories. We consider in particular deformations preserving N = (1, 0) and N = (1/2, 0) supersymmetry. Such theories can be realised on N D3branes in specific selfdual 5form backgrounds. We show that the required 5form field strengths can be produced by configurations of intersecting D3branes and we are then able to construct the supergravity solutions in the nearhorizon limit. We consider some consequences of this duality, in particular showing that the gravity duals predict that the dimensions of a subset of BPS operators are not modified by the deformation.

Abstract: Effective superpotentials obtained by integrating out matter in super YangMills and conformal supergravity backgrounds in N = 1 SUSY theories are considered. The pure gauge and supergravity contributions (generalizing VenezianoYankielowicz terms) are derived by considering the case with matter fields in the fundamental representation of the gauge group. These contributions represent quantum corrections to the treelevel YangMills and conformal supergravity actions. The classical equations of motion following from the conformal supergravity action require the background to be (super)conformally flat. This condition is unchanged by quantum corrections to the effective superpotential, irrespective of the matter content of the theory

A path integral formula for the associative starproduct of two superfields is proposed. It is a generalization of the KontsevichCattaneoFelder’s formula for the starproduct of functions of bosonic coordinates. The associativity of the starproduct imposes certain conditions on the background of our sigma model. For generic background the action is not supersymmetric. The supersymmetry invariance of the action constrains the background and leads to a simple formula for the starproduct.

We study zero modes of N = 1/2 supersymmetric YangMills action in the background of instantons. In this background, because of a quartic antichiral fermionic term in the action, the fermionic zero modes are not in general solutions of the equations of motion. Hence, when there are fermionic solutions, the action is no longer minimized by instantons. By deforming the instanton equation in the presence of fermions, we write down the zero modes equations. The solutions satisfy the equations of motion, and saturate the BPS bound. The deformed instanton equations imply that the finite action solutions have U(1) connections which are not flat anymore. 1
