APL2 services to levels 8 and 9 and recently held a special event to celebrate the 40th anniversary of APL. SIGAPL business As you know, SIGAPL is in transition status. In our effort for a successful exit, most members of the steering committee have met several times in 2006. Several activities were conducted, such as planning of projects and the realization of a survey to identify the membership needs. We plan to be even more active in 2007: we want to develop the SIGAPL web site by including software and book libraries, organize a conference and enhance communications with APL user’s groups. The participation of volunteers will be essential to accomplish this. Don’t hesitate to contact a member of the steering committee if you would like to participate (sigapl_steering@acm.org). APL Quote Quad is again being produced on a regular basis. To recover the delay which has been accumulated in preceding years, this double issue (Volume 35, issues 1 and 2) jumps to March, June 2007. As a counterpart for members, SIGAPL member dues for one year will be waived. In a final note, I would like to remind the members that is is important that you update your membership information through the web, by going to the ACM Membership account page at:
