Responses to Volume Expansion and Contraction in Categorized
"... SUMMARY We examined tbe responses to volume expansion and contraction in normals, essential hypertensives, and patients with secondary hypertension, in order to formulate a more precise method of categorizing essential hypertensives with respect to plasma renin and aldosterone responses. We studied ..."

Vasoconstriction During Volume Expansion Is Independent of Central Control
"... We have previously demonstrated that, in the absence of the rapid acting neural and hormonal controllers of blood pressure, an acute blood volume expansion of only 5 % in unanesthetized rats caused an increase in total peripheral resistance (TPR) of 22%. Either whole body autoregulation or the relea ..."

Small volume expansions for elliptic equations
, 805
"... This paper analyzes the influence of general, small volume, inclusions on the trace at the domain’s boundary of the solution to elliptic equations of the form ∇ · D ε ∇u ε = 0 or (− ∆ + q ε)u ε = 0 with prescribed Neumann conditions. The theory is wellknown when the constitutive parameters in the ..."

Volume Expansion Rate and The Age of The Universe
, 1995
"... Under four assumptions such that 1) Einstein’s theory of gravity is correct, 2) existence of foliation by geodesic slicing, 3) the trace of the extrinsic curvature, K, is negative at the present time in observed region, that is, the observed universe is now expanding, 4) the strong energy condition ..."

Under four assumptions such that 1) Einstein’s theory of gravity is correct, 2) existence of foliation by geodesic slicing, 3) the trace of the extrinsic curvature, K, is negative at the present time in observed region, that is, the observed universe is now expanding, 4) the strong energy condition is satisfied, we show that Hv0t0 ≤ 1, where Hv ≡ −K/3 agrees with the Hubble parameter in the case of a homogeneous and isotropic universe, and t0 is the age of the Universe. If Hv0t0> 1 is confirmed observationally, at least one of the four assumptions is incorrect.
Volume expansion and flow promotion in shock
"... Volume replacement is the most important step in treating hypovolaemic shock. Blood is needed when the oxygen carrying capacity threatens to fall below a critical level, but has the disadvantage of transmitting virus hepatitis. Anicteric hepatitis is about four times more frequent than the icteric ..."
