Topic-Sensitive PageRank
, 2002
"... In the original PageRank algorithm for improving the ranking of search-query results, a single PageRank vector is computed, using the link structure of the Web, to capture the relative "importance" of Web pages, independent of any particular search query. To yield more accurate search resu ..."

time, we show that we can generate more accurate rankings than with a single, generic PageRank vector. For ordinary keyword search queries, we compute the topic-sensitive PageRank scores for pages satisfying the query using the topic of the query keywords. For searches done in context (e.g., when

For 32 samples with criterion measures involving Black–White interracial behavior, predictive validity of IAT measures significantly exceeded that of self-report measures. Both IAT and self-report measures displayed

TIME-SENSITIVE TOPIC MODELS FOR ACTION RECOGNITION IN VIDEOS
"... In this paper, we postulate that temporal information is important for action recognition in videos. Keeping temporal information, videos are represented as word×time documents. We propose to use timesensitive probabilistic topic models and we extend them for the context of supervised learning. Our ..."

This paper focuses on the problem of identifying influential users of micro-blogging services. Twitter, one of the most notable micro-blogging services, employs a social-networking model called “following”, in which each user can choose who she wants to “follow” to receive tweets from without requiring the latter to give permission first. In a dataset prepared for this study, it is observed that (1) 72.4 % of the users in Twitter follow more than 80 % of their followers, and (2) 80.5 % of the users have 80 % of users they are following follow them back. Our study reveals that the presence of “reciprocity” can be explained by phenomenon of homophily [14]. Based on this finding, TwitterRank, an extension of PageRank algorithm, is proposed to measure the influence of users in Twitter. TwitterRank measures the influence taking
Context Sensitive Topic Models for Author Influence in Document Networks ∗

A MONTE-CARLO SIMULATION INVESTIGATING THE VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF TWO-STAGE CLUSTER SAMPLING SURVEY WITH SENSITIVE TOPICS
, 2013

Quantitative additive randomized response technique (RRT) model was presented to asking questions on sensitive topics in population survey. Monte Carlo simulations were used to evaluate validity and ..."

For searches done in context (e.g., when the search query is performed by highlighting words in a Web page), we compute the topic-sensitive PageRank scores using the topic of the context in which the query appeared. By using linear combinations of these (precomputed) biased Page
