On-chip Evolutionary Synthesis of Reconfigurable Analog Computing Circuits

by Adrian Stoica, Xin Guo, Ricardo S. Zebulum, M. Ferguson, Didier Keymeulen
"... The paper presents a Fielri Programmable Transistor Array (FPTA), developed as an experimental platform for implementing flexible, reconjigurable amlog computing. Parasitic effects of impedect switches interconnecting transistors deteriorate the pedormance of conventional designs when mapped to the ..."

The paper details several examples of evolutionary synthesis of analog circuits on the FPTA. Evolved circuits include rectifier circuits, reconfigurable amlog filters and reconfigurable

Image Parsing: Unifying Segmentation, Detection, and Recognition

by Zhuowen Tu, Xiangrong Chen, Alan L. Yuille, Song-Chun Zhu , 2005
"... In this paper we present a Bayesian framework for parsing images into their constituent visual patterns. The parsing algorithm optimizes the posterior probability and outputs a scene representation in a "parsing graph", in a spirit similar to parsing sentences in speech and natural lang ..."

language. The algorithm constructs the parsing graph and re-configures it dynamically using a set of reversible Markov chain jumps. This computational framework integrates two popular inference approaches -- generative (top-down) methods and discriminative (bottom-up) methods. The former formulates

Reconfigurable Decimation Filter

by Ashish Raman, Deepti Kakkar
"... Decimation filter is used to reduce the sampling rate for succeeding stages of an oversampling ADC. The speed of a successive-approximation ADC predominately depends on the decimator speed. This necessitates a need to design a high speed decimation filter to improve the overall system performance. A ..."

Dynamically Reconfigurable Filtering Architectures

by Mathieu Valero, Luciana Arantes, Maria Gradinariu, Pierre Sens - in "12th International Symposium Stabilization, Safety, and Security of Distributed Systems (SSS
"... Abstract. Distributed R-trees (DR-trees) are appealing infrastructures for im-plementing range queries, content based filtering or k-NN structures since they inherit the features of R-trees such as logarithmic height, bounded number of neighbors and balanced shape. Interestingly, the mapping between ..."

to my family... A current focus among communication engineers is to design flexible radio sys-tems to handle services among different telecommunication standards. Thus, low-cost multimode terminals will be crucial building blocks for future generations of multimode communications. Here, different bandwidths, from different telecom-munication standards, must be supported. This can be done using multimode transmultiplexers (TMUXs) which allow different users to share a common chan-nel in a time-varying manner. These TMUXs allow bandwidth-on-demand. Each user occupies a specific portion of the channel whose location and width may vary with time. Another focus among communication engineers is to provide various wideband services accessible to everybody everywhere. Here, satellites with high-gain spot beam antennas, on-board signal processing, and switching will be a major comple-mentary part of future digital communication systems. Satellites provide a global

Snort offloader: A reconfigurable hardware NIDS filter

"... Software-based Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS) often fail to keep up with high-speed network links. In this paper an FPGA-based pre-filter is presented that reduces the amount of traffic sent to a software-based NIDS for inspection. Simulations using real network traces and the Snort rule ..."
