Many students complain that the choice is made difficult by conflicting factors: the teacher they like does not teach

This Handbook is one document of the series of ECSS Documents intended to be used as supporting material for ECSS Standards in space projects and applications. ECSS is a cooperative effort of the European Space Agency, national space agencies and European industry associations for the purpose of developing and maintaining common standards. The material in this Handbook is defined in terms of description and recommendation how to organize and perform mechanical loads analyses of spacecraft and payloads. This handbook has been prepared by the ECSS-E-HB-32-26 Working Group, reviewed by the ECSS Executive Secretariat and approved by the ECSS Technical Authority. Web Caching and Zipf-like Distributions: Evidence and Implications

by Lee Breslau, Pei Cao, Li Fan, Graham Phillips, Scott Shenker - IN INFOCOM , 1999
"... This paper addresses two unresolved issues about web caching. The first issue is whether web requests from a fixed user community are distributed according to Zipf's law [22]. Several early studies have supported this claim [9], [5], while other recent studies have suggested otherwise [16], [2] ..."

Wireless sensor networks: a survey

by I. F. Akyildiz, W. Su, Y. Sankarasubramaniam, E. Cayirci , 2002
"... This paper describes the concept of sensor networks which has been made viable by the convergence of microelectro-mechanical systems technology, wireless communications and digital electronics. First, the sensing tasks and the potential sensor networks applications are explored, and a review of fact ..."

Routing Techniques in Wireless Sensor Networks: A Survey

by Jamal N. Al-karaki, Ahmed E. Kamal - IEEE WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS , 2004
"... Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) consist of small nodes with sensing, computation, and wireless communications capabilities. Many routing, power management, and data dissemination protocols have been specifically designed for WSNs where energy awareness is an essential design issue. The focus, howeve ..."

XORs in the air: practical wireless network coding

by Sachin Katti, Hariharan Rahul, Wenjun Hu, Dina Katabi, Muriel Médard, Jon Crowcroft - In Proc. ACM SIGCOMM , 2006
"... This paper proposes COPE, a new architecture for wireless mesh networks. In addition to forwarding packets, routers mix (i.e., code) packets from different sources to increase the information content of each transmission. We show that intelligently mixing packets increases network throughput. Our de ..."

design is rooted in the theory of network coding. Prior work on network coding is mainly theoretical and focuses on multicast traffic. This paper aims to bridge theory with practice; it addresses the common case of unicast traffic, dynamic and potentially bursty flows, and practical issues facing

On Spectral Clustering: Analysis and an algorithm

by Andrew Y. Ng, Michael I. Jordan, Yair Weiss - ADVANCES IN NEURAL INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEMS , 2001
"... Despite many empirical successes of spectral clustering methods -- algorithms that cluster points using eigenvectors of matrices derived from the distances between the points -- there are several unresolved issues. First, there is a wide variety of algorithms that use the eigenvectors in slightly ..."

Five misunderstandings about case-study research

by Bent Flyvbjerg - Qualitative Inquiry , 2006
"... When I first became interested in in-depth case-study research, I was trying to understand how power and rationality shape each other and form the urban environments in which we live (Flyvbjerg, 1998). Opinion Mining and Sentiment Analysis

by Bo Pang, Lillian Lee , 2008
"... An important part of our information-gathering behavior has always been to find out what other people think. With the growing availability and popularity of opinion-rich resources such as online review sites and personal blogs, new opportunities and challenges arise as people now can, and do, active ..."
