Illusion and well-being: A social psychological perspective on mental health.
- Psychological Bulletin,
, 1988
"... Many prominent theorists have argued that accurate perceptions of the self, the world, and the future are essential for mental health. Yet considerable research evidence suggests that overly positive selfevaluations, exaggerated perceptions of control or mastery, and unrealistic optimism are charac ..."

Decades of psychological wisdom have established contact with reality as a hallmark of mental health. In this view, the well-adjusted person is thought to engage in accurate reality testing

I-COLLIDE: An interactive and exact collision detection system for large-scale environments
- In Proc. of ACM Interactive 3D Graphics Conference
, 1995
"... We present an exact and interactive collision detection system, I-COLLIDE, for large-scale environments. Such environments are characterized by the number of objects undergoing rigid motion and the complexity of the mod-els. The algorithm does not assume the objects ’ motions can be expressed as a c ..."

Heegaard Floer homologies and contact structures
- Duke Math. J
"... Abstract. Given a contact structure on a closed, oriented three-manifold Y, we describe an invariant which takes values in the three-manifold’s Floer homology ̂ HF (in the sense of [10]). This invariant vanishes for overtwisted contact structures and is non-zero for Stein fillable ones. The construc ..."

Abstract. The LIM 1863 colon carcinoma cell line grows as structural organoids of goblet and columnar cells around a central lumen and provides a model for the development of stem cells in the normal colon. The organoid structure can be disrupted by removal of calcium from the medium, resulting in a suspension of single cells. Upon re, addition of calcium, the cells reform the organoid structure over a period of 24 h, and ultrastructural examination of the reforming cells reveals that this involves a complex process that we have termed clutching. To determine the adhesion molecules involved in organoid formation we attempted to block this process by single cell suspensions of LIM 1863 reseeded in the presence of monoclonal antibodies. An anti-integrin antibody directed against a conforma-
