Verifying Very Large Industrial Circuits Using 100 Processes and Beyond
"... Abstract. Recent advances in scheduling and networking have cleared the way for efficient exploitation of large-scale distributed computing platforms, such as computational grids and huge clusters. Such infrastructures hold great promise for the highly resource-demanding task of verifying and checki ..."

Materials for an exploratory theory of the network society.
- The British Journal of Sociology
, 2000
"... ABSTRACT This article aims at proposing some elements for a grounded theor y of the network society. The network society is the social structure characteristic of the Information Age, as tentatively identi ed by empirical, cross-cultural investigation. It permeates most societies in the world, in v ..."

I hope the reader will be benevolent enough to use what s/he nds useful in this effort, and discard the rest. I also hope that we all end up adopting the notion of disposable
Self-concordance at work: Toward understanding the motivational effects of transformational leaders.
- Academy of Management Journal,
, 2003
"... We extend existing theories by linking transformational leadership to "self-concordance" at work. In two studies using diverse samples and methods, leader behaviors were associated with follower tendencies to set self-concordant goals. In general, followers of transformational leaders vie ..."

of the latent and observed variables on the intended construct. This model demonstrated a good fit for the data ( 2 ϭ 25.99, df ϭ 14, p ϭ .02, CFI ϭ 1.00, IFI ϭ 1.00, SRMR ϭ .01, RMSEA ϭ .04). In cases in which we used a single observed variable to measure a latent construct (job attitudes), we corrected
The carbon balance of tropical, temperate and boreal forests.
- Plant Cell and Environment,
, 1999
"... ABSTRACT Forest biomes are major reserves for terrestrial carbon, and major components of global primary productivity. The carbon balance of forests is determined by a number of component processes of carbon acquisition and carbon loss, and a small shift in the magnitude of these processes would ha ..."

the industrial revolution is among the most significant of human influences on the global environment. The source of this carbon dioxide has been convincingly ascribed to the use of fossil fuels, cement manufacture and deforestation, but considerable mystery remains because only a fraction of the estimated
Firm Partial Modularity and Performance in the Electronic Manufacturing Services Industry
"... ABSTRACT Firms continue to develop new ways to decentralize non-core activities to outside parties. Scholars have approached this issue with modularity theory, suggesting a continuum of arrangements ranging from hierarchy to market. Hierarchy relies on fiat, while partially modular forms, those for ..."

These boards have large components that protrude from their surface. Pins from the component run through the circuit board and extend beyond the bottom
Introduction Architecture of enteric neural circuits involved in intestinal motility
, 2008
"... Intestinal motility is a field that has a high relevance for interpreting health of individuals and is the subject of a large number of publications over more than 100 years. Yet it remains an ill defined collection of descriptions barely relevant to what actually happens in a living higher organis ..."

Firstly, they can be classified according to shape, a process that started with Dogiel at the end of the 1800s using methylene blue as a stain. The early distinction based on the morphology of the cell body and its processes between Dogiel type I

The Failure of Private Regulation: Elite Control and Market Crises in the Manhattan Banking Industry
"... Abstract In this paper, we develop an account of the failure of private market-governance institutions to maintain market order by highlighting how control of their distributional function by powerful elites limits their regulatory capacity. We examine the New York Clearing House Association (NYCHA ..."

Abstract — Given some geometric elements such as points and lines in , subject to a set of pairwise distance constraints, the problem tackled in this paper is that of finding all possible configurations of these elements that satisfy the constraints. Many problems in Robotics (such as the position analysis of serial and parallel manipulators) and CAD/CAM (such as the interactive placement of objects) can be formulated in this way. The strategy herein proposed consists in looking for some of the a priori unknown distances, whose derivation permits solving the problem rather trivially. Finding these distances relies on a branch-and-prune technique that iteratively eliminates from the space of distances entire regions which cannot contain any solution. This elimination is accomplished by applying redundant necessary conditions derived from the theory of Distance Geometry. The experimental results qualify this approach as a promising one. Index Terms — Kinematic and geometric constraint solving, distance constraint, Cayley-Menger determinant, branch-and-prune, interval method, direct and inverse kinematics, octahedral manipulator. I.
