The strengthening the reporting of observational studies in epidemiology (STROBE) statement: guidelines for reporting observational studies.
- PLoS Med
, 2007
"... A B S T R A C T Much biomedical research is observational. The reporting of such research is often inadequate, which hampers the assessment of its strengths and weaknesses and of a study's generalisability. The Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) Initi ..."

) Initiative developed recommendations on what should be included in an accurate and complete report of an observational study. We defined the scope of the recommendations to cover three main study designs: cohort, case-control, and cross-sectional studies. We convened a 2-day workshop in September 2004

"... The contributions at the AAAI-99 Workshop on Exploring Synergies of Knowledge Management and Case-Based Reasoning (www.aic.nrl.navy.mil/~aha/aaai99-kmcbrw) were varied; it was the first AAAI workshop that focused at the intersection of these two disciplines. In this paper I attempt to identify trend ..."

"... CELIA [Redmond 1992] is a multi-strategy learner that, among other things, acquires cases through observing an expert. With all other learning turned off, CELIA improves its predic-tions of the expert’s actions dramatically. How-ever, performance does not monotonically in-crease with more cases ince ..."

Proceedings of the Twenty-Fourth AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI-10) Grouping Strokes into Shapes in Hand-Drawn Diagrams
"... Objects in freely-drawn sketches often have no spatial or temporal separation, making object recognition difficult. We present a two-step stroke-grouping algorithm that first classifies individual strokes according to the type of object to which they belong, then groups strokes with like classificat ..."

Our single-stroke classifier performs at least as well as existing single-stroke classifiers on text vs. nontext classification, and we present the first three-way singlestroke classification results. Our stroke grouping results are the first reported of their kind; our

natural decomposition of a planning problem along geographic lines, where each sub-problem is to be solved by an agent whose organizational authority covers the geographic sector. However, the nature of the problem is such that each agent's solution has major impact on the problem to be solved by other agents, and multiple iterations of defining the problem solving process are required, until a process is agreed upon which is acceptable to the users as well as algorithmically sound. We formulate the concept of "constraint trespassing", which occurs when agents impose constraints on resources owned by other agents, and emphasize and illustrate the importance of minimizing it.
