Nuclear Physics B Proceedings Supplement – preprint (2014) 1–42 Nuclear Physics B Proceedings Supplement Universal Aspects of QCD-like TheoriesI

by Lorenz Von Smekal
"... In these lectures I review some basic examples of how the concepts of universality and scaling can be used to study aspects of the chiral and the deconfinement transition, if not in QCD directly but in QCD-like theories. As an example for flavor dynamics I discuss a quark-hadron model to describe th ..."

the phase diagram of two-color QCD with the functional renormalization group. Universal aspects of deconfinement are illustrated mainly in the 2 + 1 dimensional SU(N) gauge theories with second order transition where many exact results from spin models can be exploited.

Abstract. eLogbook is a Web-based collaborative environment designed for communities of practice. It enables users to manage joint activities, share related assets and get contextual awareness. In addition to the original Webbased access, an email-based eLogbook interface is under development. The purpose of this lightweight interface is twofold. First, it eases eLogbook access when using smart phones or PDA. Second, it eases eLogbook acceptance for community members hesitating to learn an additional Web environment. Thanks to the proposed interface, members of a community can benefit from the ease of use of an email client combined with the power of an activity and asset management system without burden. The Web-based eLogbook access can be kept for supporting further community evolutions, when participation becomes more regular and activities become more complex. This paper presents the motivation, the design and the incentives of the email-based eLogbook interface.

by Kazunaga Horiuchi, Shin Uchino, Shinobu Hashii, Akira Hashimoto, Tomohiro Kato, Nobuyuki Aoki, Yuichi Ochiai
"... A variable range hopping (VRH) transport has been observed in a low-temperature conductance of C 60 field-effect transistor (C 60FET). It appears below 100 K in place of a nearest neighbor hopping transport. We have investigated various C 60FETs fabricated by several thermal annealing conditions and ..."
