This paper presents a novel way to conduct inference using dependent data in time series, spatial, and panel data applications. Our method involves constructing t and Wald statistics utilizing a cluster covariance matrix estimator (CCE). We then use an approximation that takes the number of clusters/groups as fixed and the number of observations per group to be large and calculate limiting distributions of the t and Wald statistics. This approximation is analogous to ‘fixedb’ asymptotics of Kiefer and Vogelsang (2002, 2005) (KV) for heteroskedasticity and autocorrelation consistent inference, but in our case yields standard t and F distributions where the number of groups essentially plays the role of sample size. We provide simulation evidence that demonstrates our procedure outperforms conventional inference procedures and performs well comparably to KV.

In the canonical approach to Lorentzian Quantum General Relativity in four spacetime dimensions an important step forward has been made by Ashtekar, Isham and Lewandowski some eight years ago through the introduction of a Hilbert space structure which was later proved to be a faithful representation of the canonical commutation and adjointness relations of the quantum field algebra of diffeomorphism invariant gauge field theories by Ashtekar, Lewandowski, Marolf, Mourão and Thiemann. This Hilbert space, together with its generalization due to Baez and Sawin, is appropriate for semiclassical quantum general relativity if the spacetime is spatially compact. In the spatially noncompact case, however, an extension of the Hilbert space is needed in order to approximate metrics that are macroscopically nowhere degenerate. For this purpose, in this paper we apply the theory of the Infinite Tensor Product (ITP) of Hilbert Spaces, developed by von Neumann more than sixty years ago, to Quantum General Relativity. The cardinality of the number of tensor product factors can take the value of any possible Cantor aleph, making this mathematical theory well suited to our problem in which a Hilbert space is attached to each edge of an arbitrarily complicated, generally infinite graph. The new framework opens a pandora’s box full of techniques, appropriate to pose fascinating physical questions such as quantum topology change, semiclassical quantum gravity, effective low energy physics etc. from the universal point of view of the ITP. In particular, the study of photons and gravitons propagating on fluctuating quantum spacetimes is now in reach, the topic of the next paper in this series. 1

The issues related to the integrability of quantum CalogeroMoser models based on any root systems are addressed. For the models with degenerate potentials, i.e. the rational with/without the harmonic confining force, the hyperbolic and the trigonometric, we demonstrate the following for all the root systems: (i) Construction of a complete set of quantum conserved quantities in terms of a total sum of the Lax matrix L, i.e. ∑ µ,ν∈R (Ln)µν, in which R is a representation space of the Coxeter group. (ii) Proof of Liouville integrability. (iii) Triangularity of the quantum Hamiltonian and the entire discrete spectrum. Generalised Jack polynomials are defined for all root systems as unique eigenfunctions of the Hamiltonian. (iv) Equivalence of the Lax operator and the Dunkl operator.
