ZOGRAFOS, NORDBERG: MOTION SEGMENTATION USING LCV 1 Fast and accurate motion segmentation using Linear Combination of Views
"... We introduce a simple and efficient procedure for the segmentation of rigidly moving objects, imaged under an affine camera model. For this purpose we revisit the theory of “linear combination of views ” (LCV), proposed by Ullman and Basri [20], which states that the set of 2d views of an object und ..."

Our work shows, that one may use this theory for motion segmentation, and cluster the trajectories of 3d objects using only two 2d basis views. We therefore propose a

View Interpolation for Image Synthesis
"... Imagespace simplifications have been used to accelerate the calculation of computer graphic images since the dawn of visual simulation. Texture mapping has been used to provide a means by which images may themselves be used as display primitives. The work reported by this paper endeavors to carry t ..."

The specialeffects technique of morphing, which combines interpolation of texture maps and their shape, is applied to computing arbitrary intermediate frames from an array of prestored images. EigenTracking: Robust Matching and Tracking of Articulated Objects Using a ViewBased Representation
 International Journal of Computer Vision
, 1998
"... This paper describes an approach for tracking rigid and articulated objects using a viewbased representation. The approach builds on and extends work on eigenspace representations, robust estimation techniques, and parameterized optical flow estimation. First, we note that the leastsquares image r ..."

An Efficient Boosting Algorithm for Combining Preferences
, 1999
"... The problem of combining preferences arises in several applications, such as combining the results of different search engines. This work describes an efficient algorithm for combining multiple preferences. We first give a formal framework for the problem. We then describe and analyze a new boosting ..."

Three parallel algorithms for classical molecular dynamics are presented. The first assigns each processor a fixed subset of atoms; the second assigns each a fixed subset of interatomic forces to compute; the third assigns each a fixed spatial region. The algorithms are suitable for molecular dynamics models which can be difficult to parallelize efficiently those with shortrange forces where the neighbors of each atom change rapidly. They can be implemented on any distributedmemory parallel machine which allows for messagepassing of data between independently executing processors. The algorithms are tested on a standard LennardJones benchmark problem for system sizes ranging from 500 to 100,000,000 atoms on several parallel supercomputers the nCUBE 2, Intel iPSC/860 and Paragon, and Cray T3D. Comparing the results to the fastest reported vectorized Cray YMP and C90 algorithm shows that the current generation of parallel machines is competitive with conventi...
The FF planning system: Fast plan generation through heuristic search
 Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research
, 2001
"... We describe and evaluate the algorithmic techniques that are used in the FF planning system. Segmentation of brain MR images through a hidden Markov random field model and the expectationmaximization algorithm
 IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON MEDICAL. IMAGING
, 2001

The finite mixture (FM) model is the most commonly used model for statistical segmentation of brain magnetic resonance (MR) images because of its simple mathematical form and the piecewise constant nature of ideal brain MR images.
