Many styles of multimedia conferencing are likely to co-exist on the Internet, and many of them share the need to invite users to participate. The Session Invitation Protocol (SIP) is a simple protocol designed to enable the invitation of users to participate in such multimedia sessions. It is not tied to any specific conference control scheme, providing support for either loosely or tightly controlled sessions. In particular, it aims to enable user mobility by relaying and redirecting invitations to a user’s current location. This document is a product of the Multiparty Multimedia Session Control (MMUSIC) working group of the Internet Engineering Task Force. Comments are solicited and should be addressed to the working group’s mailing list at

Covariance and contravariance: Conflict without a cause

by Giuseppe Castagna - ACM Transactions on Programming Languages and Systems , 1995
"... In type-theoretic research on object-oriented programming, the issue of “covarianceversus con-travariance ” is atopicof continuing debate. In this short notewe argue that covariance and con-travariance appropriately characterize two distinct and independent mechanisme. The so-called contravariance r ..."

Can Eve control PerkinElmer actively-quenched single-photon detector?

by V Makarov , A Anisimov , S Sauge

First experimental results are reported. This loophole may make possible an attack against quantum cryptosyst ..."

We do not see how three of these behaviors could be immediately useful for Eve, and omit their description for brevity. However, the fourth behavior can, under some conditions, be used by Eve to control Bob
