Constrained model predictive control: Stability and optimality
 AUTOMATICA
, 2000
"... Model predictive control is a form of control in which the current control action is obtained by solving, at each sampling instant, a finite horizon openloop optimal control problem, using the current state of the plant as the initial state; the optimization yields an optimal control sequence and t ..."

and/or timevarying systems. We concentrate our attention on research dealing with stability and optimality; in these areas the subject has developed, in our opinion, to a stage where it has achieved sufficient maturity to warrant the active interest of researchers in nonlinear control. We distill
Routing in a delay tolerant network
 Proceedings of ACM Sigcomm
, 2004
"... We formulate the delaytolerant networking routing problem, where messages are to be moved endtoend across a connectivity graph that is timevarying but whose dynamics may be known in advance. The problem has the added constraints of finite buffers at each node and the general property that no con ..."

Consensus and cooperation in networked multiagent systems
 PROCEEDINGS OF THE IEEE
"... This paper provides a theoretical framework for analysis of consensus algorithms for multiagent networked systems with an emphasis on the role of directed information flow, robustness to changes in network topology due to link/node failures, timedelays, and performance guarantees. An overview of ..."

Incorporating nonlocal information into information extraction systems by gibbs sampling
 In ACL
, 2005
"... Most current statistical natural language processing models use only local features so as to permit dynamic programming in inference, but this makes them unable to fully account for the long distance structure that is prevalent in language use. We show how to solve this dilemma with Gibbs sampling, ..."

Optimization Flow Control, I: Basic Algorithm and Convergence
 IEEE/ACM TRANSACTIONS ON NETWORKING
, 1999
"... We propose an optimization approach to flow control where the objective is to maximize the aggregate source utility over their transmission rates. We view network links and sources as processors of a distributed computation system to solve the dual problem using gradient projection algorithm. In thi ..."

A theory of timed automata
, 1999
"... Model checking is emerging as a practical tool for automated debugging of complex reactive systems such as embedded controllers and network protocols (see [23] for a survey). Traditional techniques for model checking do not admit an explicit modeling of time, and are thus, unsuitable for analysis of ..."

of realtime systems whose correctness depends on relative magnitudes of different delays. Consequently, timed automata [7] were introduced as a formal notation to model the behavior of realtime systems. Its definition provides a simple way to annotate statetransition graphs with timing constraints
Vivaldi: A Decentralized Network Coordinate System
 In SIGCOMM
, 2004

Largescale Internet applications can benefit from an ability to predict roundtrip times to other hosts without having to contact them first. Explicit measurements are often unattractive because the cost of measurement can outweigh the benefits of exploiting proximity information. Vivaldi is a simple, lightweight algorithm that assigns synthetic coordinates to hosts such that the distance between the coordinates of two hosts accurately predicts the communication latency between the hosts.
Sketchpad: A manmachine graphical communication system
, 2003
"... The Sketchpad system uses drawing as a novel communication medium for a computer. The system contains input, output, and computation programs which enable it to interpret information drawn directly on a computer display. It has been used to draw electrical, mechanical, scientific, mathematical, and ..."

EndtoEnd Routing Behavior in the Internet
, 1996
"... The largescale behavior of routing in the Internet has gone virtually without any formal study, the exception being Chinoy's analysis of the dynamics of Internet routing information [Ch93]. We report on an analysis of 40,000 endtoend route measurements conducted using repeated “traceroutes” ..."

Modeling and simulation of genetic regulatory systems: A literature review
 JOURNAL OF COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY
, 2002
"... In order to understand the functioning of organisms on the molecular level, we need to know which genes are expressed, when and where in the organism, and to which extent. The regulation of gene expression is achieved through genetic regulatory systems structured by networks of interactions between ..."
