Statecharts: A Visual Formalism For Complex Systems
, 1987
"... We present a broad extension of the conventional formalism of state machines and state diagrams, that is relevant to the specification and design of complex discreteevent systems, such as multicomputer realtime systems, communication protocols and digital control units. Our diagrams, which we cal ..."

call statecharts, extend conventional statetransition diagrams with essentially three olements, dealing, respectively, with the notions of hierarchy, concurrency and communication. These transform the language of state diagrams into a highly structured' and economical description language
The STATEMATE Semantics of Statecharts
, 1996
"... This article describes the semantics of the language of statecharts as implenented in the STATEMATE system [Harel et al. 1990; Harel and Politi 1996]. The initial version of this semantics was developed by a team about.10 years ago. With the added experience of the users of the system it has since b ..."

Automatic verification of finitestate concurrent systems using temporal logic specifications
ACM Transactions on Programming Languages and Systems
, 1986
"... We give an efficient procedure for verifying that a finitestate concurrent system meets a specification expressed in a (propositional, branchingtime) temporal logic. Our algorithm has complexity linear in both the size of the specification and the size of the global state graph for the concurrent ..."

Bandera: Extracting Finitestate Models from Java Source Code
IN PROCEEDINGS OF THE 22ND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
, 2000
"... Finitestate verification techniques, such as model checking, have shown promise as a costeffective means for finding defects in hardware designs. To date, the application of these techniques to software has been hindered by several obstacles. Chief among these is the problem of constructing a fini ..."

We examine properties of residualbased tests for the null of no cointegration for dynamic panels in which both the shortrun dynamics and the longrun slope coefficients are permitted to be heterogeneous across individual members of the panel+ The tests also allow for individual heterogeneous fixed effects and trend terms, and we consider both pooled within dimension tests and group mean between dimension tests+ We derive limiting distributions for these and show that they are normal and free of nuisance parameters+ We also provide Monte Carlo evidence to demonstrate their small sample size and power performance, and we illustrate their use in testing purchasing power parity for the post–Bretton Woods period+ 1.
STATEMATE: A Working Environment for the Development of Complex Reactive Systems
 IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering
, 1990
"... This paper provides an overview of the STATEMATE system, constructed over the past several years by the authors and their colleagues at Ad Cad Ltd., the R&D subsidiary of iLogix, Inc. STATEMATE is a set of tools, with a heavy graphical orientation, in tended for the specification, analysis, d ..."

Factoring polynomials with rational coefficients
 MATH. ANN
, 1982
"... In this paper we present a polynomialtime algorithm to solve the following problem: given a nonzero polynomial fe Q[X] in one variable with rational coefficients, find the decomposition of f into irreducible factors in Q[X]. It is well known that this is equivalent to factoring primitive polynomia ..."

polynomials feZ[X] into irreducible factors in Z[X]. Here we call f ~ Z[X] primitive if the greatest common divisor of its coefficients (the content of f) is 1. Our algorithm performs well in practice, cf. [8]. Its running time, measured in bit operations, is O(nl2+n9(log[fD3). Here f~Tl[X] is the polynomial
Finite state Markovchain approximations to univariate and vector autoregressions

The Theory of Hybrid Automata

The classification reveals structure on mixed discretecontinuous state spaces that was previously studied on pur ..."
