Abstract
Abstract. In this paper, we explore the increasingly popular social bookmarking services. These services powerfully combine personal tagging of information sources with interactive browsing, which allows for improved social navigation. We examine the use of a social bookmarking service, deployed in a large organization, to understand how social navigation is supported. We conclude that social tags used in the context of a social bookmarking service are an important way to improve social navigation. 1
