Nonlinear Digital Waveform Coding Of Chaotic Signals (1996) [1 citations — 0 self]
Abstract:
A method for coding a signal from a time discrete chaotic system is described. The signal is encoded in a binary sequence and can be decoded with prescribed accuracy. The construction of the decoder for a class of chaotic systems is given. The waveform coding scheme can be used for constructing pseudo chaos generators which can produce periodic signals with eligible period length which resembles the chaotic signals in their statistical characteristics. Finally the application of this pseudo chaos generator to CDMA spread spectrum modulation is discussed. 1. INTRODUCTION In recent years there is an increasing interest in exploiting the complex structure of chaotic signals [1, 2]. One possible application is the generation of chaotic code sequences for direct sequence spread spectrum communication, schematically depicted in Fig.1. There are mainly two problems: q-nary source local Code Gener. local Code Gener. state z(t) state z*(t) sink Codetrans - mitter m(t) s(t) c(t) noisy channel ...
