Abstract:
Until today, knowledge representation activity still being a fast-growing area of research in both artificial intelligence and database backgrounds. This is mainly due to the large number of nonstandard applications that have placed demands on knowledge representation that exceed the capabilities of existing systems by far. Seeing that these applications are not homogeneous and require different kinds of functionalities than those offer by traditional tools, to support efficiently more complex things that can have active aspect, new systems have been developed. A new research direction appeared. It concerns hybrid systems that embed more than one representation formalism in a single application. This paper presents some aspects of features for knowledge and active data representation for the AIP system. The framework discusses appropriate features from knowledge base and database paradigms together with object modeling notation employed by AIP system to handle different sorts of knowle...
