Abstract:

: BTD-SAA-RMOA-01.05 describes two methods for compressing the RTP/UDP/IP headers of H.323 media packets. The description currently provided does not address the important issues that are brought up in this contribution. The material focuses on the RTP-only header compression over real-time AAL5 and provides detailed presentation on how to implement such header compression. RTP-only header compression is preferred when used over SVCs connecting two H.323-to-H.323 gateways in the core of an ATM network. _____________________________________________________________________ DISTRIBUTION: SAA/RMOA _____________________________________________________________________ NOTICE: This contribution has been prepared to assist the ATM Forum.
