Abstract:
Device drivers have always been complex software that are written at the operating system level. They are knit with the rest of the operating system kernel and work by interacting with it. Writing device drivers is a cumbersome task because writing and debugging the kernel code is very dicult. It is thus desirable to have a mechanism for implementing user level device drivers.
