Abstract
A single-chip image sensor used in almost all consumer and in some professional-grade digital cameras today is affixed with an alternating pattern of spectrally shifted (in the electromagnetic wavelength sense) color filters to each pixel location. The arrangement of color filters, which are typically the canonical color triples (i.e. red, green, blue), is called color filter array (or CFA) [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. The arrangement
