Abstract. We present a systematic approach for developing software, using Funmath as a formal specification and verification language and Haskell as a prototype programming language. We argue that a separate formal specification of the desired functionality helps bridging the gap between the initial informal specification and the final implementation. We illustrate the application of our approach for the development of a structural, DTD dependent XML editor.
