Abstract
5e002 For past missions, inter-agencies cross support has always been dealt with in an ad hoc manner, most of the times as mission specific arrangement. This has been recognised some years ago by CCSDS, who in response, through its Panel 3, has developed a Cross Support Reference Model from which Recommendations for SLE service specifications are being developed. The aim of these Recommendations is to provide a uniform cross support capability to agencies that develop the interfaces of their facilities in accordance with such Recommendations. ESA and NASA JPL plan to target the initial SLE service development for the cross support by DSN of the ESA INTErnational Gamma Ray Astrophysics Laboratory (INTEGRAL) mission (to be launched in the year 2001). This paper, after an introduction to the CCSDS Cross Support Reference Model, presents the different services being developed by Panel 3 and identifies the services needed for the cross support of the INTEGRAL mission. Moreover, it presents the interfaces of the ESA Ground Network requiring modifications as to achieve SLE services compatibility and finally a development plan, which, starting from the INTEGRAL specific needs, expands into a full CCSDS compliant cross support capability. 1.
