Abstract. Business Intelligence (BI) software aims to enable business users to easily access and analyze relevant enterprise information so that they can make timely and fact-based decisions. However, despite userfriendly features such as dashboards and other visualizations, business users still find BI software hard to use and inflexible for their needs. Furthermore, current BI initiatives require significant efforts by IT specialists to understand business operations and requirements, in order to build BI applications and help formulate queries. In this paper, we present a vision for BI that is driven by enterprise modeling. The Business Intelligence Model (BIM) aims to enable business users to conceptualize business operations and strategies and performance indicators in a way that can be connected to enterprise data through highly automated tools. The BIM draws upon well-established business practices such as Balanced Scorecard and Strategy Maps as well as requirements and conceptual modeling techniques such as goal modeling. The connection from BIM to databases is supported by a complementary research effort on conceptual data integration.

Abstract. The field of requirements engineering (RE) for business processes has grown during the last several years. As business processes are needed to fulfil organizational goals, the information captured in goal models provides a basis for designing business processes. Although research has started to explore how to transform goal models into business process models, current transformation methods need further research. This paper proposes a toolsupported method to model goals as part of the business requirements for business processes and to automatically generate business process design skeletons that respond to these business requirements.

Abstract. L’elaborato presenta la valutazione di una migrazione ad un Software Open Source (OSS) in una Pubblica Amministrazione. In particolare, l’ambito considerato è stato quello critico di office automation, con l’introduzione della suite OpenOffice.org. Per la valutazione, sono stati raccolti dati qualitativi e quantitativi tramite costante monitoraggio permesso da differenti software di raccolta dati. L’analisi è stata svolta tenendo in considerazione il punto di vista di diversi stakeholder, quali utenti, manager IT, e tecnici IT. I risultati sono stati soddisfacenti, ma non possono essere generalizzati per via di alcuni limiti, quali le particolarità dell’ambiente considerato e l’uso in parallelo della soluzione preesistente. Ciò nonostante, i risultati ottenuti sono certamente utili come primo supporto ad una modalità di migrazione verso gli OSSs che vorremmo proporre e della quale stiamo valutando l’efficacia. 1. INTRODUZIONE Gestire l’informazione coerentemente con gli obiettivi di business è un compito estremamente delicato; un trattamento dell’informazione non rispondente alle esigenze può compromettere gli obiettivi di business della Pubblica Amministrazione. L'adozione di un business model basato sull'allineamento fra IT e business è potenzialmente in grado di fornire al settore pubblico un maggior numero di servizi di qualità più elevata, migliorandone al tempo stesso, la modalità di erogazione[14,15,21,22].
