E-Health is a domain which refers to the use of modern information and communication technologies to provide citizens with health services and information. In the e-Heath particular attention is paid to users ’ privacy. Patient data must be protected from a disclosure to unauthorized third parties, especially in the face of the progress in genetic research, where obtaining health data related to one user may lead to deduction about the health of the user’s relatives. The paper presents a solution for anonymous access of IT services and its application to an e-Health counseling scenario. 1

Recently we had proposed two untraceability protocols for mobile agents and began investigating their quality. We believe that quality evaluation of security protocols should extend a sole validation of their security and cover other quality aspects, primarily their efficiency. Thus after conducting a security analysis, we wanted to complement it with a performance analysis. For this purpose we developed a performance evaluation framework, which, as we realised, with certain adjustments, can be applied to evaluate performance of a whole class of security protocols for mobile agents. This class contains the protocols in which each host on the agent’s route is responsible for providing a security function, and, inter alia, includes a big variety of integrity checking schemas and accountability mechanisms for mobile agents such as Lee’s Partial Results Authentication Codes or family of Karjoth’s et al protocols for protection of computation results of free-roaming agents. Finally, we used the framework to evaluate efficiency of our Untraceability Protocol I. In this paper we present the framework and the results of the evaluation. 1

Abstract. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) provide sensing and monitoring services by means of many tiny autonomous devices equipped with wireless radio transceivers. As WSNs are deployed on a large-scale and/or on long-term basis, not only traditional security but also privacy issues must be taken into account. Furthermore, when network operators offer on-demand access to sensor measurements to their clients, query mechanisms should ideally leak neither client interests nor query patterns. In this paper, we present a privacy-preserving WSN query mechanism that uses standard cryptographic techniques. Besides preventing unauthorized entities from accessing sensor readings, it minimizes leakage of (potentially sensitive) information about users ’ query targets and patterns. 1

Anonymity is of great importance in distributed agent applications such as e-commerce & auctions. This paper proposes and analyzes a new approach for organized anonymity of agents based on the use of pseudonyms. A novel naming scheme is presented that can be used by agent platforms to provide anonymity for each individual agent. The paper introduces two distinct techniques, one based on handles and another based on agent spawning. Both techniques can be integrated into agent platform middleware, automatically guaranteeing anonymity for all individual agents. The applicability of this approach is evaluated for three agent platforms: AgentScape, JADE and SeMoA. 1

We imagine the future with ubiquitous software agents, intelligently assisting people in their daily lives. We think that very important property of these agents is their ability to autonomously move from one device to another (mobility). Mobile agents proved many advantages but the major obstacle to their widespread adoption are problems related to their security. Thus continuous work on improving security of the agents must be conducted. This is where we concentrated our research effort. As the result we can propose an architecture supporting anonymity of agent owners. In this paper we concentrate on its core module – the infrastructure of untraceability protocol, which we implemented as a JADE add-on and shared with JADE community. 1

Anonymity can be of great importance in distributed agent applications such as e-commerce & auctions. This paper proposes and analyzes a new approach for organized anonymity of agents based on the use of pseudonyms. A novel naming scheme is presented that can be used by agent platforms to provide automatic anonymity for all agents on its platform, or, alternatively, to provide anonymity on demand. The paper also introduces a new technique, based on the use of handles, that can be fully integrated in an agent platform. Performance measures for an anonymity service implemented for the AgentScape platform provides some insight in the overhead involved. 1.
