This paper addresses integrity rules that are embedded within engineering design applications and that apply between applications. A representation for integrity rules that are embedded in applications is presented and a set of related methods developed for: (a.) maintaining the integrity condition of application developed data, (b) managing the precedence order between applications, in the context of (c.) changing the schema and the associated mix of applications and (d.) iterated execution of applications and change propagation. Both integrity rules literally embedded within external applications and others required to be embedded within a database are considered. The techniques are demonstrated with an extensive example.

Complexity in modern product design is manifest through large numbers of diverse parts, functions, and design disciplines that require an intricate web of synergistic relationships to link them together. It is extremely difficult for designers to assimilate or represent such complex designs in their totality. Few CAD tools provide support for managing complex design relationships. Instead, designers must document and track these relationships independent of the design model. This increases the burden on the design team and increases the risk of inconsistencies and errors in the design. This researches introduces a framework that utilizes the intricate relationships between design components to enhance the representational power of design models and to provide focal points for automating the management of design complexity. Automated mechanisms, based on aggregation, interaction, and variational relationships between design components, are presented that integrate model structure, a v...

( " jchoi @ yonsei.ac.kr Traditional architecture is an important topic, not only for finding local identities from traditional heritages but also for representing the traditional identities. It is especially true because locality issues are critical in this global era. Nevertheless, the structure of traditional Korean architecture has not been fully explored in a systematical or computational manner. Furthermore, this information is not managed efficiently even though the technology for managing information effectively is
