The notion that effective relationships between groups improve coordination, cooperation and consequently performance has considerable appeal in a broad range of contexts. In particular, partnerships are viewed as critical organizational mechanisms enabling information systems groups and their clients within organizations to utilize existing information technology investments already in place and to tap the potential offered by information technologies. This paper proposes a theoretical model drawing from socio-cognitive theory, highlighting a convergence in perspectives on key issues between the groups as the mechanism underlying partnerships. Data from a survey of 671 managers on both sides of IS-User relationships in multiple firms provides support for the model and the hypothesized relationship between convergence in perspectives and the performance of IS groups. In particular, the results suggest that a convergent assessment of the perspectives of IS groups by Users significantly enhances the performance of IS groups. This paper is among the first efforts in the IS literature to use dyadic data provided by both IS and User groups to understand IS-User relationships. Organizational innovation adoption has received increasing attention in the marketing and management literature over the past two decades. Insight in adoption processes, its inhibitors and stimulators helps suppliers of innovations to market their new products more effectively. The objective of this paper is to discuss main findings on organizational adoption and integrate them within a framework. The framework that we propose addresses the adoption decision at two levels, i.e. the organizational level and the level of the individual adopter within an organization. Thus, we aim to contribute to an integration of two streams of research on innovation adoption or technology acceptance that have emerged in the marketing and management literature. Based on our discussion, we tentatively identify several issues in innovation adoption research that we feel need attention in future research.

This article argues for a discursive turn in organizational knowledge studies. Existing efforts tend to focus on knowledge outcomes. While valuable in many respects, this approach glosses over communication processes that make knowledge organizational. To fully understand the collective creation and application of knowledge, researchers must attend to four fundamental processes of formulation, reflexivity, adaptation, and simultaneity. Existing methods like cross sectional studies, longitudinal designs, event sequence studies, and conversation analysis can all shed some light on these four processes. However, there is a gulf in existing methods where important discursive phenomena of organizational knowledge go unstudied. High-resolution, broadband discourse analysis (HBDA), which would study organization-wide spoken and written discourse for extended periods of time, is needed to fill the gap. Centering resonance analysis (CRA) is proposed as an automated means of coping with the grea...
