When teams of agents engage in collaborative activity, new questions arise concerning the representation and synchronized execution of actions. In this paper we describe a language for representing plans designed for teams of agents, and present a possible-worlds semantics for joint attitudes and for plan execution. This formalism provides a framework for representing and reasoning about joint action in which various approaches to co-ordination and commitment can be explored. 1 Introduction Resource-bounded agents situated in dynamic environments must balance the need to react to new situations against their commitment to some current activity.
