A Rate-Adaptive MAC Protocol for Multi-Hop Wireless Networks

by Gavin Holland, Nitin H. Vaidya, Paramvir Bahl , 2001
"... Wireless local area networks (W-LANs) have become increasingly popular due to the recent availability of affordable devices that are capable of communicating at high data rates. These high rates are possible, in part, through new modulation schemes that are optimized for the channel conditions bring ..."

. Users are given the option to either select an operational data rate manually or to let the device automatically choose the appropriate modulation scheme (data rate) to match the prevailing conditions. Automatic rate selection protocols have been studied for cellular networks but there have been

Climate affects crop growth interactively, sometimes resulting in unexpected responses to prevailing conditions.

The method for cultivating virus agents which was published by Maitland and Maitland (I) in 1928 may be regarded as having provided oneof the most important techniques now available for the study of ultramicroscopic virus agents outside the animal body. In the original method, vaccinia virus was induced to multiply in a medium consisting of minced hens ' kidney, serum and Tyrode solution. The work of the Maitlands was soon confirmed by Rivers, Haagen and Muckenfuss (2) and by Eagles and McClean (3). Although no fundamental changes have been made in the original technique, minor modifications, such as the use of Tyrode solution and tissue alone, the addition of animal sera of various kinds and of tissues of different origins, have been practiced by many observers. The method has also become useful in the cultivation of Rickettsiae by the modification first suggested by Nigg and Landsteiner (4), who used tunica vagina]is tissue of guinea pigs and guinea pig serum, with or without

ABSTRACT (edited) Background: PA is the main cause of respiratory failure in cystic fibrosis (CF) patients. Its persistence in the lung is associated with its capacity to form biofilms, against which ABs are considered poorly active. We set up an in vitro model allowing for pharmacodynamic comparison of AB activity against PA biofilms grown in MHB or in ASM (mimicking the physicochemical

In Defense of the Eight-Point Algorithm

by Richard I. Hartley - IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence , 1997

This paper challenges that view, by showing that by preceding the algorithm with a very simple normalization (translation and scaling) of the coordinates of the matched points

Environmental Conditions Prevailing in Habitat Affect Seedlings Growth (khaya Senegalensis)
