Fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) research trials are growing in diverse intestinal and extraintestinal conditions that are thought to be either caused or correlated with gut microbiota dysbiosis. Although, the mechanism by which the microbiota results in disease initiation or progression is not fully understood, it is speculated that restoring the symbiosis by FMT could have therapeutic benefits. FMT is currently approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of recurrent pseudomembranous colitis caused by Clostridium difficile; which is a direct consequence of alteration in microbiota composition caused by long-term antibiotics consumption. Because the disease is directly linked to an altered microbiota compo-sition, it is intuitive that restoring the normal composition-by using non-stringent criteria to define ‘normal’- will alter the niche in a way that the commensals will outcompete C. difficile bacteria and hence, the infection will be controlled in an ecological manner.1

Minimum Requirements for Taxicab Security Cameras*

by M. Cantis, Darlene Weaver
"... Problem—The homicide rate of taxicab-industry is 20 times greater than that of all workers. A NIOSH study showed that cities with taxicab-security cameras experienced significant reduction in taxicab driver homicides. Methods—Minimum technical requirements and a standard test protocol for taxicab-se ..."

A distributed algorithm for minimum-weight spanning trees

by R. G. Gallager, P. A. Humblet, P. M. Spira , 1983
"... A distributed algorithm is presented that constructs he minimum-weight spanning tree in a connected undirected graph with distinct edge weights. A processor exists at each node of the graph, knowing initially only the weights of the adjacent edges. The processors obey the same algorithm and exchange ..."
