The Determinants of Credit Spread Changes.

by Pierre Collin-Dufresne , Robert S Goldstein , J Spencer Martin , Gurdip Bakshi , Greg Bauer , Dave Brown , Francesca Carrieri , Peter Christoffersen , Susan Christoffersen , Greg Duffee , Darrell Duffie , Vihang Errunza , Gifford Fong , Mike Gallmeyer , Laurent Gauthier , Rick Green , John Griffin , Jean Helwege , Kris Jacobs , Chris Jones , Andrew Karolyi , Dilip Madan , David Mauer , Erwan Morellec , Federico Nardari , N R Prabhala , Tony Sanders , Sergei Sarkissian , Bill Schwert , Ken Singleton , Chester Spatt , René Stulz - Journal of Finance , 2001
"... ABSTRACT Using dealer's quotes and transactions prices on straight industrial bonds, we investigate the determinants of credit spread changes. Variables that should in theory determine credit spread changes have rather limited explanatory power. Further, the residuals from this regression are ..."

spreads, with most of the remainder attributable to a single systematic factor. Similarly, Duffie and Singleton (1999) find that both credit-risk and liquidity factors are necessary to explain innovations in U.S. swap rates. However, when analyzing the residuals they are unable to find explanatory factors

Understanding How Users Evaluate Innovative Features of Online Dictionaries – An Experimental Approach

by Alexander Koplenig
"... Compared with printed dictionaries, online dictionaries provide a number of unique possibilities for the presentation and processing of lexicographical information. However, in Müller-Spitzer/Koplenig/Töpel (2011) we show that – on average- users tend to rate the special characteristics of online di ..."

potential users are fully informed about the benefits of possible innovative features of online dictionaries, they will come to judge these characteristics to be more useful than users that do not have this kind of information. This argument is supported by empirical evidence presented in this paper.

Acme: An Architecture Description Interchange Language

by David Garlan, Robert Monroe, David Wile - in Proceedings of CASCON’97 , 1997
"... Numerous architectural description languages (ADLs) have been developed, each providing complementary capabilities for architectural development and analysis. Unfortunately, each ADL and supporting toolset operates in isolation, making it di cult to integrate those tools and share architectural desc ..."

. This scheme permits subsets of ADL tools to share architectural information that is jointly understood, while tolerating the presence of information that falls outside their common vocabulary. In this paper we describe Acme's key features, rationale, and technical innovations. 1

1 Mapping the « Full Value » of Innovative Features in Projectified Firms

by unknown authors
"... The business model of projectified firms such as automotive manufacturers relies heavily on innovation. But what is the value of each innovation within this business model? The paradox is that even if the value is recognized as a multi-dimensional concept, the literature often focus on one specific ..."

INNOVATIVE FEATURE SELECTION USED IN MULTISPECTRAL IMAGERY CLASSIFICATION FOR WATER QUALITY MONITORING

by E. Charou A
"... This paper concerns the evaluation of a feature selection and classification techniques for land cover classification and potential monitoring of temporal changes. For the purposes of our study, an ASTER satellite image was used, acquired on 5 October, 2001, with 14 spectral bands resampled at the s ..."

TCP Westwood: Bandwidth estimation for enhanced transport over wireless links

by Saverio Mascolo, Claudio Casetti, Mario Gerla, et al. , 2001
"... TCP Westwood (TCPW) is a sender-side modification of the TCP congestion window algorithm that improves upon the performance of TCP Reno in wired as well as wireless networks. The improvement is most significant in wireless networks with lossy links, since TCP Westwood relies on endto-end bandwidth e ..."

estimation to discriminate the cause of packet loss (congestion or wireless channel effect) which is a major problem in TCP Reno. An important distinguishing feature of TCP Westwood with respect to previous wireless TCP “extensions” is that it does not require inspection and/or interception of TCP packets

Sure independence screening for ultra-high dimensional feature space

by Jianqing Fan, Jinchi Lv , 2006
"... Variable selection plays an important role in high dimensional statistical modeling which nowa-days appears in many areas and is key to various scientific discoveries. For problems of large scale or dimensionality p, estimation accuracy and computational cost are two top concerns. In a recent paper, ..."

, Candes and Tao (2007) propose the Dantzig selector using L1 regularization and show that it achieves the ideal risk up to a logarithmic factor log p. Their innovative procedure and remarkable result are challenged when the dimensionality is ultra high as the factor log p can be large and their uniform

The self-passive magnetic-gravitational sub-system of satellite calming including orientation and stabilization was considered for 25kg microsatellite MS-‘Ex’. According to given requirements the composition of attitude control sub-system (ACS) was determined. Mathematical model and software programme in MatLab for simulation of the microsatellite dynamics relatively of the microsatellite center of masses were developed. The calculation results were presented and ways of increasing of sub-system stabilization accuracy were determined.

Competition and Innovation

by Philippe Aghion, Jean Tirole - An Inverted-U Relationship,” Quarterly Journal of Economics , 2005
"... The paper analyzes the organization of the R&D activity in an incomplete contract framework. It provides theoretical foundations: (a) to understand how the allocation of property rights on innovations may affect both the frequency and the magnitude of these innovations; (b) to rationalize common ..."
