Genetic Architecture and the Evolution of Sex

by Rolf Lohaus, Christina L. Burch, Ricardo B. R. Azevedo
"... Theoretical investigations of the advantages of sex have tended to treat the genetic architecture of organisms as static and have not considered that genetic architecture might coevolve with reproductive mode. As a result, some potential advantages of sex may have been missed. Using a gene network m ..."

Genetic Architecture of Floral Traits in

by Iris Hexagona, Iris Fulva, Amanda N. Brothers, Jessica G. Barb, Evangeline S. Ballerini, Douglas W. Drury, Michael L. Arnold
"... The formation of hybrids among closely related species has been observed in numerous plant taxa. Selection by pollinators on floral traits can act as an early reproductive isolating barrier and may be especially important when there is overlap in dis-tribution and flowering time. In this study, we u ..."

Multiple myeloma is a malignant proliferation of monoclonal plasma cells leading to clinical features that include hypercalcaemia, renal dysfunction, anaemia, and bone disease (frequently referred to by the acronym CRAB) which represent evidence of end organ failure. Recent evidence has revealed myeloma to be a highly heterogeneous disease composed of multiple molecularly-defined subtypes each with varying clinicopathological features and disease outcomes. The major division within myeloma is between hyperdiploid and nonhyperdiploid subtypes. In this division, hyperdiploid myeloma is characterised by trisomies of certain odd numbered chromosomes, namely,

The Complex Genetic Architecture of the Metabolome

by Eva K. F. Chan ¤a, Heather C. Rowe ¤b, Bjarne G. Hansen ¤c¤d, Daniel J. Kliebenstein
"... Discovering links between the genotype of an organism and its metabolite levels can increase our understanding of metabolism, its controls, and the indirect effects of metabolism on other quantitative traits. Recent technological advances in both DNA sequencing and metabolite profiling allow the use ..."

Genetic Architecture of Transcription and Chromatin Regulation

by Kwoneel Kim, Hyoeun Bang, Kibaick Lee, Jung Kyoon Choi , 2015
"... DNA microarray and next-generation sequencing provide data that can be used for the genetic analysis of multiple quantitative traits such as gene expression levels, transcription factor binding profiles, and epigenetic signatures. In particular, chromatin opening is tightly coupled with gene transcr ..."
