Hierarchical Dirichlet processes.

by Yee Whye Teh , Michael I Jordan , Matthew J Beal , David M Blei - Journal of the American Statistical Association, , 2006
"... We consider problems involving groups of data where each observation within a group is a draw from a mixture model and where it is desirable to share mixture components between groups. We assume that the number of mixture components is unknown a priori and is to be inferred from the data. In this s ..."

consider a hierarchical model, specifically one in which the base measure for the child Dirichlet processes is itself distributed according to a Dirichlet process. Such a base measure being discrete, the child Dirichlet processes necessarily share atoms. Thus, as desired, the mixture models

The Structure of Light Nuclei and Its Effect on Precise Atomic Measurements

On the Existence of a Feller Semigroup with Atomic Measure in a Nonlocal Boundary Condition

by P. L. Gurevich A , 2007
"... Abstract—The existence of Feller semigroups arising in the theory of multidimensional diffu-sion processes is studied. An elliptic operator of second order is considered on a plane bounded region G. Its domain of definition consists of continuous functions satisfying a nonlocal condition on the boun ..."

on the boundary of the region. In general, the nonlocal term is an integral of a function over the closure of the region G with respect to a nonnegative Borel measure µ(y, dη), y ∈ ∂G. It is proved that the operator is a generator of a Feller semigroup in the case where the measure is atomic. The smallness

Abstract. In this paper, wediscuss thedecomposability ofweighted composition operatoruCϕ onLp(X)(1 ≤ p < ∞) of a σ-finite atomicmeasure space (X,S, µ)with the assumption that u ∈ L∞(X) and |u | has positive ess inf. Weprove that if the analytic core ofuCϕ is zero anduCϕ is not quasinilpotent, then it is not decomposable. We also show that if ϕ is either injective almost everywhere or surjective almost everywhere but not both, then uCϕ is not decomposable. Finally, we give a necessary condition for decomposability of uCϕ. 1.

and calculational techniques for light nuclei will be presented, with an emphasis on debunking myths and on recent progress in the field. Nuclear quantities that affect precise atomic measurements will be discussed, together with their current theoretical and experimental status. The final topic will be a

Statistics of atomic frequency standards

by David W. Allan - Proc. IEEE , 1966
"... Abstract-A theoretical development is presented which results in a relationship between the expectation value of the standard deviation of the frequency fluctuations for any finite number of data samples and the infinite time average value of the standard deviation, which provides an invariant measu ..."
