The Sasaki cone and extremal Sasakian metrics

by Charles P. Boyer, Krzysztof Galicki, Santiago, R. Simanca - Proceedings on the Conference on Riemannian Topology (K. Galicki and , 2008
"... Abstract. We study the Sasaki cone of a CR structure of Sasaki type on a given closed manifold. We introduce an energy functional over the cone, and use its critical points to single out the strongly extremal Reeb vectors fields. Should one such vector field be a member of the extremal set, the scal ..."

On Sasaki-Einstein manifolds in dimension five

by Charles P. Boyer, Michael Nakamaye , 2010
"... We prove the existence of Sasaki-Einstein metrics on certain simply connected 5-manifolds where until now existence was unknown. All of these manifolds have non-trivial torsion classes. On several of these we show that there are a countable infinity of deformation classes of Sasaki-Einstein structu ..."

Problem solving is a significant part of science and mathematics and is the most intellectually significant part of programming. Solving a problem involves understanding the problem, analyzing it, exploring possible solutions, writing notes about intermediate results, reading about relevant methods, checking results, and eventually assembling a solution. Nuprl is a computer system which provides assistance with this activity. It supports the interactive creation of proofs, formulas, and terms in a formal theory of mathematics

The data generating process (DGP) for generic dynamic panel data consists of a law of state dynamics g, a selection or attrition rule h, and an initial condition F. I study nonparametric identiability of this complete DGP (g; h; F) using short unbalanced panel data, allowing for nonseparability between observed states and unobserved heterogeneity in each of g, h and F. For T> 3, the DGP is identied by using a proxy variable. For T> 6, the three additional periods construct a proxy, and thus the DGP is identied without an auxiliary variable.
