Constraint-based Verification of Client-Server Protocols

by Giorgio Delzanno, Tevfik Bultan , 2001
"... We show that existing constraint technology like Presburger [Omega,Pug92], and Boolean solvers [CUDD] incorporated in the paradigm of symbolic model checking with rich assertional languages proposed in [KMM + 97] can be successfully applied to the verification of client-server protocols with arbitra ..."

]. The method we propose is incomplete but fully automatic and sound for safety and liveness properties. The Action Language verified is, in fact, able to check full CTL temporal specifications. Sufficient conditions for the termination of the resulting verification algorithms can be derived using the general

QOS WITH RELIABILITY AND SCALABILITY IN ADAPTIVE SERVICE-BASED SYSTEMS

by V. Rhymend, Uthariaraj P. Mercy, Florence A. Geetha
"... Service-based systems that are dynamically composed at runtime to provide complex, adaptive functionality are currently one of the main development paradigms in software engineering. However, the Quality of Service (QoS) delivered by these systems remains an important concern, and needs to be manage ..."

to be managed in an equally adaptive and predictable way. To address this need, we introduce a novel, tool-supported framework for the development of adaptive servicebased systems called QoSMOS (QoS Management and Optimization of Service-based systems). QoSMOS can be used to develop service-based systems

This thesis presents CraneTracker, a multi-modal sensing and communication system for monitoring migratory species at the continental level. By exploiting the robust and extensive cellular infrastructure across the continent, traditional mobile wireless sensor networks can be extended to enable reliable, low-cost monitoring of migratory species. The developed multi-tier architecture yields ecologists with unconventional behavior in-formation not furnished by alternative tracking systems at such a large scale and for a low-cost. The simulation, development and implementation of the CraneTracker soft-ware system is presented. The system is shown effective through multiple proxy deploy-
