See What You Want to See: Motivational Influences on Visual Perception,”
- Journal of Personality and Social Psychology,
, 2006
"... People's motivational states-their wishes and preferences-influence their processing of visual stimuli. In 5 studies, participants shown an ambiguous figure (e.g., one that could be seen either as the letter B or the number 13) tended to report seeing the interpretation that assigned them to o ..."

that top-down influences also inform perception. For example, context matters. Prior exposure to images of animals or people biases what people see when they view classic ambiguous figures, such as the rat-man and old woman-young woman figures so often featured in introductory psychology textbooks
The role of friends' appearance and behavior on evaluations of individuals on Facebook: Are we known by the company we keep?.
- Human Communication Research,
, 2008
"... This research explores how cues deposited by social partners onto one's online networking profile affect observers' impressions of the profile owner. An experiment tested the relationships between both (a) what one's associates say about a person on a social network site via '&a ..."

Analysis of the Value-Altering Effect of Motivating Operations
"... Motivating operations (MOs) may affect behavior in two ways; A) an MO momentarily alters the frequency of behavior for which a particular consequence has served as reinforcement (evocative-effect) and B) an MO momentarily alters the behavioral effects of the relevant consequence (value-altering eff ..."

Chapter 12 Rough Sets and Rough Logic: A KDD Perspective
"... Abstract Basic ideas of rough set theory were proposed by Zdzis law Pawlak [85, 86] in the early 1980’s. In the ensuing years, we have witnessed a systematic, world–wide growth of interest in rough sets and their applications. The main goal of rough set analysis is induction of approximations of con ..."

The most important issues in this induction process are: – construction of relevant primitive concepts from which approximations of more complex concepts are assembled, – measures of inclusion and similarity (closeness) on concepts, – construction

First, I would like to thank my advisors Prof. Gal A. Kaminka and Dr. David Sarne for their excellent guidance and constant support in the past two years. I learned quite a bit about scientific research, all thanks to their great instruction. Working with them was a real pleasure, not only on the professional level, but on the personal level as well. Thanks to my colleagues and friends from the Bar-Ilan University in general, and MAVERICK lab in particular, for the great time we had together. Special thanks to Gabriella Melamed, MAVERICK lab manager, for assisting with administra-tive issues, and in particular for helping with the arrangements for the experiment. I also wish to thank Tal-Oron Gilad from Ben-Gurion University, for providing us with a He-brew translation of the NASA-TLX questionnaire. Thanks to my dear family for their support and encouragement, and for enabling me to com-plete this work. Thanks to my girlfriend for her patience and understanding. Finally, I would like to thank my grandfather, who never ceased to encourage me throughout this journey.
